Geotek uses both Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) for utility surveys in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota regions — two very complementary technologies. Geotek uses a mid-range frequency GPR system to scan for Utility Locating in Tampa and West Florida. This system is capable of generating both 2D and 3D representations of objects below the surface. Geotek also uses an EMI-based SeekTech Line locator. The SeekTech is the only line locator that uses omnidirectional antennas, guidance arrows and an easy-to-read mapping display to lead you quickly and accurately to the target line. The sandy soils of West Florida is ideal for GPR systems.
