Need Private Utility Location Services? Geotek Services uses both Ground Penetrating Radar and Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) to meet your utility locating needs. Geotek employs multiple mid-range frequency GPR systems for utility locating. This georadar system is capable of generating both 2D and 3D representations of objects below the surface. Geotek also uses an EMI-based SeekTech Line locator. The SeekTech is the only utility line locator that uses omni-directional antennas, guidance arrows and an easy-to-read mapping display to lead you quickly and accurately to the underground utility.

GPR Locating Non-Metallic Utilities:

The figure to the right shows the detection of a storm water line and a sanitary sewer line. Both utilities were detected with a mid-frequency GPR system. Both pipes are located with in similar soil conditions. The figure shows (from left to right) the detection of a storm water line at a depth of 2 feet and the detection a sanitary sewer line at a depth of 4.3 feet.
