For utility surveys, GeoTek uses both Ground Penetrating Radar and Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) — two very complementary technologies. GeoTek uses a mid-range frequency GPR system to scan for utilities. This system is capable of generating both 2D and 3D representations of objects below the surface. GeoTek also uses an EMI-based SeekTech Line locator. The SeekTech is the only line locator that uses omni-directional antennas, guidance arrows and an easy-to-read mapping display to lead you quickly and accurately to the target line.
Utility Scanning Applications Include:
- Private Utility Locates
- Locating Underground Pipes (Water, Sewer, Gas)
- Locating Electric, Telecom, Fiber Optic Cables
- Locating Underground Storage Tanks (UST)
- Locating Metal and Plastic Pipes
- Locating Voids
- Locating Sprinkler Pipes
- Locating Tunnels
