Geotek Services offers Utility Locating and Concrete Slab Scanning for Environmental Surveys. We employ several geotechnical instruments to support subsurface investigations, including GPR, EMI, and a flux-gate magnetometer. GeoTek uses multiple mid-range frequency GPR systems. The mid-range GPR is a very capable system, showing depth penetration down to 14 feet. This system is capable of generating both 2D and 3D representations of objects below the surface. Ground Penetrating Radar is well suited to support both Phase I and Phase II environmental audits in search of buried tanks and drums. Our utility locating services are also available for borehole clearance to advance soil borings or installing monitoring wells. GPR can also support concrete scanning applications, such as determining the depth of concrete or find missing monitoring well locations.
Environmental Scanning Applications:
- Locating Underground Utilities (Water, Sewer, Gas, etc.)
- Locating Underground Storage Tanks (UST’s)
- Locating Buried Drums
- Locating Metal and Plastic Pipes
- Clearing Borehole Locations
- Supporting Phase I and Phase II Audits
GPR for 2D Environmental Scanning
2D GPR Scan at a prior Service Station. Client was searching for buried drums and buried debris. Multiple Features were observed in the 10 – 14 Foot Range.
